Welcome to the new website of Tharston and Hapton Parish Council.

Our Parish Meetings are held at The Church Rooms Hapton. Everyone is welcome to attend the Parish Meetings and participate and we look forward to welcoming you to the meetings.

At Present all meetings are cancelled and once the meetings return to normal after the virus has abated I will be in touch to inform all Parishioners.

The Annual Parish Meetings have also been cancelled till next year under government guidance.

I ahve also added a page on the website to keep all parishioners and Councillors up to date with the latest breifings and information on the pandemic.

The Parish Council are passing the following resolution to enable them to continue with their vital work on maintenence, paying of invoices and with the guidance from The Government of Social distancing all meeting including the Annual Meeting of the Parish are cancelled from weds as per the resolution that will be passed on Weds.

Emergency Delegation Scheme

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic and in the event that it is not possible to convene a meeting of The Parish Council in reasonable time, the Clerk shall have delegated authority to make decisions on behalf of the Council where such decisions cannot be deferred and must be made in order to comply with a commercial or statuary deadlines, or to ensure public safety. This will be carried out where possible in consultation with the Council via Telephone or electronically. The Clerk will further consult with the Chairman and vice-chairman for guidance. This delegation does not extend to matters expressly reserved to the Council in legislation. The delegated authority will be ceased by a decision at a meeting when it is considered no longer necessary.

The Defibrillators are now installed in their new home and the locations are as follows.

Hapton Service Station, The Street, Hapton

Willow Farm, The Street, Tharston

The Parish Council has now received the kit to run CPR and Defibrillator training courses and will be looking to run courses in the New Year for all Parishioners and local groups. Please contact the Clerk to register your interest asap
